Overview

NIMSpro™ Development

The documents below are the development design documents used to create NIMSpro™ version 1.x. These documents may not accurately reflect the final release version due to design changes during the development process, however they should be very close and thus helpful.

Helpful Tools

The following is provided by NIMSpro™ designers to list some of the more helpful tools they use for application development or simulation design.
MySQL Tools
  • Navicat™ - Navicat™ is a fantastic database tool for working with SQL databases, specifically MySQL databases in the case of NIMSpro™. It is very inexpensive (about $100), and can save endless hours of frustration trying to develop, administer, maintain, or create MySQL databases. The original NIMSpro™ database schema (including queries) was implemented using this tool. A great tool if you're not a script person and prefer visual interfaces.
  • phpMyAdmin - This is a solid and commonly used tool for MySQL database administration. It's not quite as easy or visual as Navicat, but as Open Source it is free.
